In The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck,
Sarah is a recently divorced woman who suddenly has no idea what to do with her life, once her identity is no longer wrapped up in that of her hugely successful (philandering creep) ex-husband.
She initially joins far too many book clubs in an attempt to occupy her time, but finally settles on remaining in only one. She stays in the book club that meets on Monday nights, because that is the book club closest to her house.
What she never anticipated was that the members of that book club—Book Club Leader Lady, Dorothy Hamill Hairdo, Boob Job Bonnie, and her eventual best friend, Piper, just to name a few—would set her life on a course toward love, purpose, and more than her fair share of scandal.
But at the center of it all is community. And that's the inspiration behind The Book Club Closest to My House.
So what is The Book Club Closest to My House?
Book Club, as we usually refer to it, is a private reader community on Facebook
centered around romantic comedies written by Bethany Turner.
You could say it's sort of exclusive,
but that's only because we care more about creating
opportunities for real, meaningful human connection than we do
driving up membership numbers or creating some sort of PR machine.
There is a time and a place for all of that.
Book Club is not that time or place.
Behind the Scenes Access and Exclusives
More often than not, Book Club members will be the first to learn the titles of books in progress, the first to see covers of upcoming releases, and have the most unfiltered access to find out whatever they want to know.
Come for the books. Stay for the community.
Community is formed when people connect on common ground. Sometimes that common ground is a stage in life, a career, or a shared hobby. At Book Club, the rom-coms of a particular author are how it begins, but it doesn't stop there!

ANSWER THE
MEMBERSHIP QUESTION
(There's only one. You won't
need to study or anything.)
And...
You need to have read at least one of these books...
(And hopefully you enjoyed it. If not, you're still welcome to join, but seriously...
why would you want to?)
...and you should probably at least want to read more of them.
